Pakeezah - 1972

Chalte Chalte Yunhi Koi Mil Gaya Tha, sung by the tawaif Sahibjaan (Meena Kumari) was the music once heard throughout the streets of Lucknow for years. Released in 1972, the Bollywood film Pakeezah tells the story of a tawaif or courtesan in Lucknow.

Starring Meena Kumari and Raaj Kumar in lead roles, the film was directed by Kamal Amrohi. Music by Ghulam Mohammed and Naushad, the film has some of the most popular songs of Hindi films such as "Inhi Logon Ne", "Mausam Hai Aashiqana", "Kaun Gali Gayo Shyam", and "Chalo Dildar Chalo".
