Jewel Thief - 1966

Another joint venture of Anand brothers, Dev Anand and Vijay Anand, which was widely accepted by the Mumbai film industry. Jewel Thief was a crime thriller produced by Dev Anand’s home production Navketan. Ashok Kumar acted as a cold blooded villain in this film. The other cast includes Vyjayanthimala, Tanuja and Helen.

The film keeps the suspense of the real culprit till the end. The film is noted for its choreography and also for its music by S.D. Burman. ‘Yeh Dil Na Hota Bechchara’ and ‘Aasmaan Ke Neeche’ are some of the hits songs from the film. The film, just like the previous work of Navketan – The Guide, was a huge box office hit.
