Guide 1965
A masterpiece in literature adapted by masters into celluloid to form another masterpiece; Guide written and directed by Vijay Anand, Guide is a Hindi film adaptation of the critically acclaimed novel, The Guide by R.K Narayan. Released in 1965, the lead roles of the film were handled by the director’s brother Dev Anand and Waheeda Rehman. The narrative describes the transformation of Raju, who once shams the role of a tourist guide, into a spiritual guide.
The film is also remembered for its evergreen songs like "Gaata Rahe Mera Dil" and "Tere Mere Sapne." Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar rendered the beautiful songs composed by S.D. Burman.
