Chitralekha -1964

The 1964 release Chitralekha, directed by Kidar Sharma is a historical-philosophica drama film. The film stars Ashok Kumar, Meena Kumari and Pradeep Kumar in lead roles. The film was based on a Hindi novel written Bhagwati Charan Verma by the same name. Kidar Sharma has previously made a celluloid version of this novel in 1941. while the first venture was a great success the second one didn’t do well in the box office.

Music department was handled by Roshan and Sahir Ludhianvi. Two of the noted songs from this film are "Sansaar Se Bhaage Phirte Ho" and "Man Re Tu Kaahe."
