Vishwa Shanti Stupa, Rajgir, Bihar
Vishwa Shanti Stupa (world peace pagoda) in Rajgir, Bihar state of India is located at the top of Ratnagiri hill. It is a major pilgrim destination and was built by Nichidatsu Fuji, a Buddhist monk from Japan with the idea of establishing world peace. Similar Peace Pagodas are seen in different parts of the country.
There is a ropeway for the visitors to reach the top of the hill. There is also a bridle path but people usually opt for the ropeway as they can enjoy the beauty of nature during the ascend. Tourists can see a breathtaking view of Rajgir from the top of the hill.
There are various restaurants near the Stupa where you can enjoy tasty snacks and cool drinks. On the four sides of the stupa, there are four golden statues of Buddha which depict his four actions of birth, enlightenment, teaching and passing away.
