Vishnupad temple, Bodh Gaya, Bihar
This video presents Vishnupad, a huge temple in Bodh Gaya, Bihar state of India. It is situated on the banks of the River Phalgu and is said to have been built over the footprints of Lord Vishnu.
This ancient temple was built in Shikara style, in 1782, by the Queen of Indore. You can find a 40 cm long footprint of Lord Vishnu, which is imprinted on solid rock and is surrounded by a silver plated basin.
You can see rituals performed on the banks of the river. Marriage functions are also held in this temple.
