Placing dummies or mannequins in farmlands in order to deject birds and flies from disturbing and feeding on the newly developed crops is a usual practice in the villages of India. Usually these dummies or hay-mans popularly known as ‘scarecrows’ are made by stuffing hay inside old clothes with a pot or a bag or a pillowcase as their head.
