Buddha Statue in Bodhgaya, Bihar
Bodhgaya is a small town situated in the state of Bihar in eastern India. This video features one of the major tourist attractions of this place, the statue of Buddha, who was a spiritual teacher in the north eastern region of Indian sub-continent.
Buddha means the “enlightened one” who founded Buddhism. The famous statue in Bodhgaya is around 80 ft high and it took seven years to get completed. The statue was consecrated on November 18th, 1989 by His Holiness the XIVth Dalai Lama.
Being a pilgrimage center, it draws the attention of the Buddhist followers around the world. The main aim of constructing this huge statue was to spread the message of Buddhism.
