Birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh
Built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the Gurudwara at Patna Sahib evokes the memory of Guru Gobind Singh the tenth Guru of the Sikhs. He was born on 22 December 1666. Popularly known as Takhat Patna Sahib, this place was where Guru spent his early years before moving to Anandpur.
Besides being the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh, Patna was also honored by visits from Guru Nanak as well as Guru Tegh Bahadur. One of the five Takhats or holy seats of authority of Sikhs, this spot in the State of Bihar, India, is often visited by a large number of believers throughout the year.
