Facial using Red Sandalwood and Turmeric

Kerala offers a number of traditional Ayurvedic, natural and herbal remedies for face care. Red sandalwood and turmeric are widely used by women in Kerala for facials. The key ingredients for this facial pack are red sandalwood, turmeric, tender coconut water and basil leaves.

Red sandalwood and turmeric are taken in equal measure and is then mixed and ground with tender coconut water to obtain a paste. A handful of sacred basil leaves is added to this and ground again. The paste thus obtained is applied over the face and neck. When dried it can be removed using a clean cloth.
