Ramacham is popular as herb that possesses the property to quench thirst. The water boiled with ramacham or karingali (dark catechu) or both is widely used as a herbal drinking water.
Bed stuffed with roots of ramacham is said to have certain healing power and hence used by patients suffering from arthritis.
A handful sized ball of the herb’s root can be used as a body cleaning brush while bathing.
