Umananda Island, Assam
Umananda Island in Assam state of India is a picturesque location which is situated in the Brahmaputra River at Guwahati. Otherwise known as Peacock Island, this place is famous for the Shiva temple which is very old. The temple is said to have been built in 1694 A.D.
Since this is a travel destination many people from around the country visit the island and the temple dedicated to lord Shiva. One can see many small cruise boats all set to carry the travellers for a safari.
