Bihu in rural Assam

During Bihu festival (the state and harvest festival of Assam), the celebrations in rural areas begins with cattle rites and the first day is especially dedicated to them. Without any restraint the cows and bullocks are free to graze any field and are pampered.

The rest of the days the people enjoy  by distributing sweets, conducting fairs, sports and games and the sound of the drum and flute will bring  the streets alive.
