Rolling Silk thread in Sualkuchi, Assam

Sualkuchi is a village in Assam, a north-eastern state in India. It is situated in Kamrup district of Assam and is a hub of silk production. This video shows a boy rolling the silk thread before weaving it.

A majority of the people living in this village is experts in weaving and it is their livelihood. The weaving tradition in this village dates back to the 11th century.
