Nagarjuna Sagar, Andhra Pradesh
Shown in this video is the Nagarjuna Sagar Lake in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh state of India. Considered as one of the largest man-made lakes in the world, this lake is a part of Nagarjuna Sagar Dam, one of the earliest hydroelectric projects in India.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, laid the foundation stone of the Dam on 10th December 1955. Initially named as ‘Nandikonda Project’, it was later renamed as Nagarjunasagar Project under the inspiring name of the great Buddhist Savant, Acharaya Nagarjuna.
This is a sprawling lake which covers a huge area. A large number of tourists often visit this dam as part of their itinerary. They enjoy the boating through this lake as it offers an unmatched experience.
