Hyderabad's Golconda Fort view
Golconda or Gollu Konda literally meaning shepherd’s hill is a ruined fort in Andhra Pradesh state, India. Located around 11 km from Hyderabad, the state capital, Golconda is famous for its fort built by Hindu Kakatiya Kings. It was originally a mud fort and later the structure changed with successive rulers of this state. Situated amidst lush greenery, this fort is now a popular tourist destination as the government preserves it as a monument.
