The Cellular Jail, Exterior
The Cellular Jail, a colonial prison situated in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was used by the British to imprison exile political prisoners. Notoriously known as Kala Pani (black water) the jail was constructed between 1896 and 1906.
Renowned freedom fighters like Batukeshwar Dutt and Veer Savarkar were imprisoned here during the struggle for India's independence. The video shows the exterior of the cellular jail.
