In the emerald shores of Ross Island, Port Blair
Once the Administrative headquarters of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Ross Island has been demolished in the earthquake in 1941. Ross Island, located about 2 km from Port Blair, is today a tourist destination with bits and pieces of an opulent past.
Ruins of the church, swimming pool and the chief commissioner's residence with its huge gardens and grand ballrooms are some of the attractions in this island. There is also a cemetery and a small museum managed by the Indian Navy in Ross Island.
