The exchange of clothes by Krishna and Radha
This Pahari painting is based on a theme that is referred to by the Hindi poet Kesavadasa in his work Rasikapriya. Here Krishna is seen wearing the clothes of Radha while Radha is robed in a yellow costume, which is always associated with Krishna, and wears his crown with peacock feathers. They walk towards the grove of trees on the river bank where they intend to pass the night. This miniature painting from India is a beautiful addition to the Kangra art.
