Valliyoorkkavu Bhagavathi Temple, Wayanad, Kerala
Famous for its colourful annual festival, the Valliyoorkkavu Bhagavathy temple is located in Wayanad district of Kerala, India. The temple is about 3 km from the town of Mananthavadi. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Bhagavathi and worshipped in three of her principal forms - Vana Durga, Bhadrakali and Jala Durga.
Here, the annual festival is celebrated in the month of January/February and during the festival, local tribal people perform tribal dance accompanied by percussion instruments. Kalamezhuthu, a ritual art plus a variety of folk art forms are also performed during the festival.
