The sprawling backwaters of Kerala
Kerala has a large and criss- crossing network of backwaters which lays parallel to the Arabian Sea, linked by 1500 km of canals and fed by 38 rivers. Vembanad lake is the largest of these lagoons, with its expanse covering the areas of Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Ernakulam districts. A house boat cruise across the backwaters will be an everlasting feel.
