Diwan-I-Khas: The Hall of Private Audience
Diwan-I-Khas inside the Red Fort is the hall used by the emperor for attending private audience to the selected courtiers and visitors. Hall of Private Audience is a pavilion of white marble supported by ornamented pillar with a flat ceiling supported on engrailed arches.
The four corners of its roof are surrounded by pillared chhatris (parasols). The marble platform inside the hall is said to have supported the famous Peacock throne, which was removed by the Persian invader Nadir Shah.
