Chori Chori - 1956

With the presence of legends like Raj Kapoor, Nargis, Pran, Johnny Walker, and Bhagvan it wouldn’t be wrong to call Chori Chori a true formula film. It has dance, drama, music, and humour. The film directed by Anant Thakur was released in the year 1956.

Inspired by the Hollywood movie “It Happened One Night” Chori Chori implicitly discusses the status of unmarried young couple in our society. It also portrays a progressive father – daughter relationship. Shankar Jaikishan’s music excels every other element in the film. Songs like ye raath beegi beegi, Aja sanam madhur, etc. are all time hits.
